This album is subtitled "More Songs from Venice Beach," and it's easy to imagine the late singer-guitarist sitting on the boardwalk, serenading passersby. There's a peacefulness about this music; Hawkins's playing is skillful and accomplished, and his voice goes down as smoothly as fine bourbon.
